Introduction to Drop Spindles - 2 hour workshop

Spinning fibres go back to the beginning of humanity. It still holds a fascination for many to see the seemingly magical transformation from a cloud of fibre being turned into a piece of useful yarn. 

In this 2-hour introductory workshop, you will be introduced to the basics of spinning by first preparing roving, wool batt, and wool cloud. Beginning on the drop spindle, over the workshop, you'll move at a pace that feels comfortable to you. If you find that you are hooked, you will be given resources to make your own, cost-effective spinning tools that you can make at home. 

All materials are included, and you will go home with some of your own hand-spun yarn.

Drop spindles and roving are available for purchase after the workshop if you're interested.

This workshop is suitable for all spaces that have access to chairs. Ages 10 and up.

Each workshop is priced per person. Minimum of 3 people; for fewer than 3, the fee is $150, plus travel fee @ $0.50/km
