Part of the excitement of planting a garden is deciding what to plant. From pursuing seed catalogues to the first two cotyledon leaves appearing, it’s one of the magical parts of gardening. Anticipation of the fruits of both yours and the plants labour is what keeps us going until the end of the season. There is truly nothing like the taste of home-grown fruits and vegetables.
Each card is 4"x5" and comes with it's own recycled, unbleached kraft paper envelope.
Plantable paper is a biodegradable handmade eco-paper made by a Canadian, living wage, women-owned company using post-consumer and post-industrial paper waste embedded with non-GMO seeds. (No trees harmed for this paper!) When the paper is planted in a pot of soil, the seeds grow and the paper composts away.
The paper can be planted indoors or outside. If planting outside, ensure all danger of frost has passed before planting. Plants may include Bird’s Eye, Clarkia, Black Eyed Susan, Catchfly, Snapdragon, Sweet Alyssum. All species are considered naturalized and carefully selected to grow in harmony with various environments so there would be no disruptions to established biodiversity.
Seed inspection and testing are done by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency and private seed labs approved by the CFIA and USDA. The paper adheres to all regulations when exporting seeds to various nations. Regulatory activity may include purity testing, lab analysis, and phytosanitary certification. All the seeds are NON-GMO (genetically modified organism).
