Custom Processing-Wool, Alpaca

April 2025 Pricing: 

• Carded Batts: $20/lb:  Incoming - dirty weight batt size: 72”x20”. Includes washing, picking, carding, in price. 
  
• Roving: $25/lb:  Incoming - dirty weight. Includes washing, picking, carding, and roving into bumps or bags.
  
• Core rug yarn: $28/lb: Incoming - dirty weight. Includes washing, picking, carding, and yarn processing in price.
  
• Handspun bulky lopi-STYLE singles: $60/lb: Incoming - dirty weight. Includes washing, picking, carding, and yarn processing in price.
• Pre-felt batts: $15/a sheet: after the cost of making carded batts.
• Needle felted sheets: 2’x4’ approx: $20/a sheet: after the cost of making carded batts. 
  
• Wet felting: 3’x4’ approx: $25/a sheet: after the cost of making carded batts.
  
• Insoles: $55/lb: Incoming - dirty weight : 1lb can make up to 10 sets of insoles depending on clean weight and type of fibre. Includes washing, picking, carding, felting, and cutting in price. 
  
• Blending: $2+/lb clean wt.: Wool can be added to processing if needed or desired. If not supplied by the customer, wool will be added; the price will be determined.
  

Pelleting

• Bulk pelleting - $5/lb. Recieved in a box enclosed in a plastic bag.
  
• Retail-ready bagged and custom-labelled pellets - $6.50/lb. Plus $250 label design fee with customer-provided logo. Resealable bags of pellets labelled with your farm/store logo on the front and instructions on the back. *original files aren’t provided, only finished labels.
  
• Branded Instructional Postcards- This postcard is branded with your company logo and basic colour scheme, along with instructions on how to use. This is an excellent way to offer information without expensive packaging.
  Design fee of $100 with provided logo. Cost for cards varies with amount. e.g. 500 cards: $200 + $100 design fee+shipping$25=$325.
• PELLETING ALPACA FIBRE: Due to it’s lack of lanolin we mix alpaca with wool. The amount of alpaca in the pellets is approximatelt 50% alpaca depening on the fibre. When pelleting alpaca, the weight of the wool is added to the price at no charge up to 100lbs. 100-400lbs wool is charged at $0.25/lb. Over 400 lbs, wool is charged ar $0.50/lb

Shipping

• Shipping: Shipping is determined by individual order. We strive to get the best rate possible. Location of destination can affect the cost of shipping greatly. We try and keep it to no higher than $50, but remote destinations may cost more. We don’t cover the cost of incoming fibre. If you would like assistance in shipping fibre to us, please let us know and we will try and get you the best rate.
• International orders will have additional customs charges.

Information

• Each incoming bag of fibre MUST have a pre-printed and fully filled out tag that identifies the customer.
  
• Fibre type: EcoWool specializes in strong and coarse fibres. These fibres are often ideal for felting, strong hand spinning yarns, weaving, and other craft endeavours. We can process fine fibre, but coarse fibre will contaminate the end result. 
  
• Fleece contamination: If fleece contains sticks, hoof trimmings, excessive burrs, moths, beetles, etc. it will be slated for pelletizing. Customer will be informed befor this is done. If customer turns down pelletizing, the fleece must be picked up or will become the property of EcoWool Canada Inc.  IF MOTHS ARE PRESENT LET US KNOW SO IT CAN BE STORED APPROPRIATELY.
  
• Blending of fibres: Depending on the end use, some fibres will need to have wool added to them. The customer will be informed before adding any additional fibre. 
  
• Order drop-off: Orders can be dropped off at a pre-arranged time up to 90 days before processing. They are stored indoors in a cool space to prevent contamination. 
  
• Order pick-up: Orders must be picked up within 30 days of processing completion. If they are not picked up, a storage charge of $2/lb/week will be charged. After 60 days, the order will become the property of EcoWool Canada Inc.
  
• Shipping: Orders can be shipped at the customer's expense. Shipping fees will be paid before shipping.
  
• Deposit: A deposit of 50% of the estimated cost of processing will be paid upon fibre delivery.
  
• Weight: 1 pound is 454g.
